A note about myself
Through a process of reflection on my own practice and a balance of personal and professional well-being, I ensure my practice is for the benefit of my clients.
I maintain my professionalism and warmth through a number of personal practices that enable me to be effective and safe in my work. Throughout training, supervision and continuous professional development, I undergo an ongoing process of assessing my personal contribution.
My practice is completely confidential and I will always behave in an entirely respectful manner with the information which you share with me. I keep brief notes for my own purpose and use; these are anonymised so that no-one can be recognised and they are kept in locked cabinets.
My work is overseen and supported by a qualified and highly experienced supervisor who is also regulated through a professional organisation. I will at times, when necessary, share information during supervision for the purposes of enhancing our work together. I will not pass on any of your personal details or use your full name so that you cannot be recognised.
Professional Memberships and Ethical Practice
I adhere to a strict code of ethics and am regulated by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists; a professional organisation of which I am a registered member. Their ethical guidelines and practices can be viewed via their website www.BACP.co.uk .
My practice is run from lovely, comfortable rooms in a private setting that are dedicated to therapeutic work. The rooms are modern, light and comfortable with a private waiting room and toilet. There are also parking spaces at the rear of the building allocated to the practice. Once an appointment has been agreed I will provide detailed directions.
Please note if you arrive late the appointment will still be for the allotted time period and will not run over so as not to impact other client appointments.
If you need to cancel an appointment I require a 24 hour notice period, if it is less than this I ask that the session be paid for in full.
These details are set out in my policy document which I provide during the initial appointment but I am happy to provide prior to this if you require it.
